Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John and Miike Snow Start Their Own Label

If you have a sweet spot for Swedish pop, you'll be pleased to know that some of the Scandinavian nation's best-loved musical exports have teamed up for a record label called Ingrid.

Among the parties involved in setting up the new company are Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John, Miike Snow and members of Teddybears. In an official announcement [via Pitchfork], the founders asked "Isn't there more to life than world tours, indie cred and empty pockets? Couldn't we be creating straight from the heart right to the people without any middle hands? Is it not 2012?"

The newly minted label will "puffer a home for the new guard of musicians and artists. The opportunity for creation, collaboration, and compilation sonically and visually, Ingrid will provide in an unadulterated space."

Of course, many of the artists involved are already signed to other (much more established) labels, and they will reportedly carry on with these companies in addition to being part of the Ingrid family.

Stay tuned for announcements about releases from Ingrid. In the meantime, watch two slightly baffling promo clips below.
