Lykke Li kept herself busy this year between the release of her sophomore set Wounded Rhymes and some tour dates, but the Swedish singer is capping the year quietly via the laidback free download Lost Sessions Vol. 1.
"I'd thought I'd give you this to put in your little players, either stick it in your ears or play it loud when the lights are low, mind weary and days rainy," she wrote in a statement.
Included are three downtempo demos of a few Wounded Rhymes tracks that strip the electronic-tinged pop soundscapes down to piano, a bit of percussion and Li's enchanting soul musings. Sounding as if it were blasted from a dying AM radio signal, the haunting R&B-flavoured "Youth Knows No Pain" might be the winner of the bunch.
