It's the follow-up to 2020's 'Daughter'

Alt-country staple Lydia Loveless has announced a new album, led by today's release of a new lead single called "Toothache."

Nothing's Gonna Stand in My Way Again arrives September 22, with Loveless returning to Bloodshot after releasing her 2020 album, Daughter, on her own label. That record was made while living in North Carolina with her then-boyfriend, and Nothing's Gonna Stand in My Way Again chronicles their breakup and the singer-songwriter's homecoming to Columbus, OH.

According to Loveless, the rollicking lead single was "inspired by a literal toothache and knowing there were way too many other things on my plate at the time to be concerned with my fucking tooth." It comes alongside a music video directed by Katie Harriman, which you can watch below. "I really wanted to do something Bob Fosse inspired," the artist explained. "Am I Bob Fosse? Absolutely not. But I think the bleak frustration came across regardless."

Nothing's Gonna Stand in My Way Again:

2. Poor Boy
3. Sex and Money
4. Runaway
