Following the departure of bassist Phil King last month, UK shoegaze unit Lush have announced that they're putting the brakes on any further reunion activities.
The band made the announcement with a statement on Facebook, acknowledging their successes in 2016.
"We received an incredible reception to our Blind Spot EP and the three beautiful career-spanning 4AD releases, sold out two Roundhouse shows, toured North America with great success and had a ball at our European festival appearances," they wrote. "It's been wonderful to revisit our old music and to create new material."
Lush continued: "It is now time for us to return to our families and homes, and bring our time together as a band to a close. We offer heartfelt thanks to all our fans – this reunion would never have happened without your overwhelming support and dedication."
The band also announced that their final show, set to take place at Manchester Academy on November 25, will feature bassist Michael Conroy handling the low end, with the band acknowledging the friendship he had with late drummer Chris Acland.
Lush had indicated that "there are plans further down the road" to deliver a new full-length, though it's unclear what those commitments mean now. The group's last LP came in 1996 with Lovelife. Read the full statement below.
