Luscious Jackson Reunite for 'Magic Hour' LP, Premiere New Track

Having got back together in 2011, funky alt-pop explorers Luscious Jackson have now announced their first full-length in close to 15 years. The band's Magic Hour lands November 5 through their own City Song imprint.

A press release explains that the band's fourth full-length, and first since 1999's Electric Honey, reunites the three-piece lineup of Jill Cunniff, Gabrielle Glaser and Kate Schellenbach (keyboardist Vivian Trimble left the band following the release of 1996's Fever In Fever Out). Apparently tracking the record, which was co-produced by Cunniff and Glaser, reminded the band of the good old days.

"When we were making the new album we felt like we did when we were making our first demos," Cunniff said in a statement. "We were just smiling and laughing all the time because we rediscovered a musical connection we all really loved and missed."

Bringing things full circle, the band also had Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz lend a hand to the album's "So Rock On." Luscious Jackson's previous efforts had been issued via the Beastie's now defunct Grand Royal imprint, and Schellenbach was the original drummer for the group during their hardcore punk days.

While a tracklisting has yet to appear in full, the band recently let loose a sneak preview called "Show Us What You Got," which you can stream down below. Additional album info and concert announcements are expected to arrive in the near future.
