Published Jan 17, 2013Lupe Fiasco had previously teased a follow-up to last year's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, but it appears as if it was all for naught, as part two has now apparently been aborted.
The Chicago spitter announced the news over Twitter today (January 17), writing, "Hello. A decision has been made that the project titled 'F&L2 Part 2' will be summarily cancelled for public release in 2013."
The artist didn't offer much more explanation and ended up closing his Twitter account following the post.
On the bright side, he did note that a new "title/concept" will be revealed later this year.
Last year, a Twitter battle with fellow Chi-town native Chief Keef had the older MC critiquing the idolized Keef's gun-toting persona in relation to Chicago's rising murder rate and the teen rapper threatening to smack Fiasco, leading Fiasco to announce his retirement following the release of Food & Liquor II.
Considering his recent "LupeFiascoStore.com" single and his plans to premiere something later on this year, his reveal may have been a bit premature.
