The Lumberjack Feedback Hand of Glory

Metal has continued to grow over the last four decades due to its ability to evolve. The Lumberjack Feedback are a prime example of the natural evolution that takes place in the heavy metal wilderness. Rejecting the standard line-up, the band opted for two drummers. The result is a raw and powerful rhythm that slowly builds at first, before crashing through your headphones like a tsunami. While the EP is only comprised of two tracks, providing only 17 minutes of music, the instrumental work and production more than make up for its limited content. Opening track "A Whisper to the Thunder" begins with a droning guitar and steady drumbeat. It's about a minute-and-a-half in when the wave comes crashing down around you. When it does, you might be compelled to bang your head, and that's okay; it's that particular feeling that makes metal so special. Counterbalancing the frantic energy of the first track, "The Dreamcatcher" is far more seductive. An atmospheric reverie consumes the first half of the song before transitioning back into the band's foundation of doom- and drone-inspired music. Tapping into the primal rhythm found within human beings, the Lumberjack Feedback have created a hypnotic and aggressive sound capable of infinite possibilities. (Kaotoxin)
