Luluc Sign to Sub Pop for Aaron Dessner-Assisted Album

Luluc Sign to Sub Pop for Aaron Dessner-Assisted Album
Luluc originally hail from Melbourne, Australia, but the folksy pair are bound to turn some heads here in North American thanks to a new deal with esteemed indie label Sub Pop. The Seattle company will release Luluc's Passerby on July 15.

The duo of Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett initially attempted to record the album in Australia, but after the sessions fizzled, they linked up with the National's Aaron Dessner to record in his Brooklyn garage. Dessner gave the band access to this home studio while he was out of town, and he came on board as co-producer when he returned.

Dessner played extensively on the record, along with members of the National's touring band and other contributors. According to a press release, the results are "full of beautiful, slow-burning melodies and delicate harmonies, which drip out of their mouths like honey."

Passerby is available to buy here. Those who pre-order vinyl will get the so-called "Loser Edition" on teal-coloured wax. All pre-orders (on vinyl or CD) will also receive a signed lithograph while supplies last.

In Australia, the album will come out on June 11 through Mistletone.
