Lullabye Arkestra Prepping New LP for Fall Release

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 16, 2010

Toronto-based husband-and-wife duo Lullabye Arkestra are currently tearing up North America in support of their excellent Threats/Worship album. But despite the ongoing roadshow, the band, composed of Do Make Say Think's Justin Small and his spouse Kat Taylor-Small, have already made plans to finish their third album when they get home.

In a recent interview with Spinner, Taylor-Small said the record is already halfway there.

"Before we left for this tour we recorded five songs, so we're going to get back in the studio to really bunker down this summer so we can hopefully get the record out for a fall release," she said. "This time we're focusing more on melody and having a bit more defined song structures. There are some songs that are going to be rock'n'roll and straightforward, and then there are some that are free form, more experimental songs - that's the beauty of being a duo, we have so many options as far as what we can do, so we're just exploring every avenue we can."

Prior to hitting the studio, however, the band will have to make their way home. Lullabye Arkestra continue the home-stretch of their tour with a show in Toronto tonight (April 16). All the remaining dates are below.
