Ludes

Rumpletely Ketarded

It's hard to define Elmira, NY's the Ludes. Original? No doubt. Perhaps Rumpletely Ketarded is what results from mixing an ounce of education, an ounce of talent and a handful of hardcore with a whole of lot time on your hands. It's strangely funny without being utterly stupid, and is slightly twisted without being dangerous. Not near as twisted as the Butthole Surfers, the Ludes may make you spin the old vinyl to make sure they didn't cause the flashback, but be assured they didn't and won't. While their take on Dr. Seuss's "Grinch" is memorable, Rumpletely Ketarded is more a collection of silly audio tracks than actual songs, take "Poop In My Bum,” or don't. It was fun at the time, but I’m not sure I'd want to experience the Ludes again.
