The Lowest of the Low's Ron Hawkins Revisits Ballads on 'Garden Songs'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 7, 2015

The Lowest of the Low have been inactive since the departure of co-founder Stephen Stanley last year, and now frontman Ron Hawkins has announced a new solo LP. Garden Songs will be out on February 3 via Pheromone Recordings.

This album finds Hawkins revisiting some past material, with a particular emphasis on ballads. According to a press release, this is "partially the result of a self-imposed challenge to record and mix a full album of his more contemplative repertoire all in one hot week of activity."

The album was recording during a live-off-the-floor session at Toronto's Revolution Recordings with producer Joe Dunphy. Hawkins was joined by his band the Do Good Assassins.

The tracklist is below. Scroll past that to see Hawkins' upcoming tour schedule with the Do Good Assassins. It includes a number of shows in Ontario.
