Published Dec 10, 2013As previously reported, Lost in the Trees will be dishing out their Past Life in the near-future, and the North Carolina band have now also announced plans to support their third full-length with a batch of North American tour dates.
Come next year, they'll be out on the road just ahead of the album's February 18 release through Anti-. An eastern run of dates, including stops in Montreal and Toronto, has the outfit joined by All Tiny Creatures, while supporting slots have not yet been announced for the western portion of the trip. All the same, you'll find the info as is down below.
As previously reported, project leader Ari Picker trimmed the band down on the new LP from a six-piece to a tidier quartet. Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, Dirty Projectors, Atlas Sound) was brought aboard in the producer role and helped refine the more minimalist approach the band are apparently taking on Past Life.
While Lost in the Trees had favoured "orchestral density" in the past, a press release notes that the new LP's arrangements are "modern, spare, and] minimal, emphasizing groove and rhythm."
You can check out new tune "Rites," as well as an album trailer, beneath the tour info.
