Published Mar 04, 2010Chapel Hill, NC-based folk collective Lost in the Trees have slowly been making a name for their unique approach to composition and a fresh take on old ideas. The group, who are fronted by composer Ari Picker, will continue to expand on their ideas with a new full-length.
The album is called All Alone in an Empty House, and will be the band's first for Anti- Records. It was recorded by Scott Solter, who has previously worked with St. Vincent, Mountain Goats, Okkervil River and John Vanderslice.
According to a press release, the album "merges the dramatic symphonic elements of classical music with the accessibility of American folk and modern pop, creating a sound that is simultaneously intimate and sonically ambitious."
The release date for All Alone in an Empty House has not been announced yet, but selections from the album, including the title track, can be heard at the band's MySpace page.
