Published Jan 30, 2015Though it comes under unfortunate circumstances, Vancouver ambient artist Loscil (a.k.a. Scott Morgan) has delivered a new three-song EP. Titled For Greta, the online mini-effort is raising funds for a child currently suffering from Ewing's Sarcoma.
A statement from Morgan explains that the project is a "fundraiser for my friends Tim and Heather whose daughter Greta has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma." All proceeds will be given to the family to help Greta's battle with the rare disease, wherein cancerous cells are found in bone or in soft tissue.
Delicate pushes of sound stream through opener "Pearl," keyboard tones and the swell of Krista Marshall's cello fill the tranquil "Luna," and textured vocal drones are stretched throughout closing cut "Lucioles."
The EP is available now on Bandcamp for a suggested price of $5, with the option to donate more to the cause.
You can stream For Greta down below, where you'll also find a list of upcoming Loscil performances.
