A couple of years ago, Lorde had never seen a diamond in the flesh, but thanks to the world-conquering popularity of 2013's Pure Heroine (not to mention the Lorde-curated Hunger Games soundtrack), life is very different these days for the New Zealand teen sensation. Now, she has set her sights on the future, and she's planning to hit the studio next month to start album number two.
Producer Joel Little, who helmed Pure Heroine, told radio host Richard Kingsmill at Australia's Triple J, "We're going to get in the studio again very soon. I think that's the plan, basically. We're just going to start writing some songs. We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like.' I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
When asked about exactly when this would be happening, he said, "Really soon. Like within the next month or so we'll be in the studio."

Since Pure Heroine, Lorde released the single "Yellow Flicker Beat," which gave a promising hint at the direction her work might take in the future. For now, we'll just have to hold tight and wait for updates about her next LP.
