Lorde

"Perfect Places"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 1, 2017

Lorde has been teasing her forthcoming sophomore album with singles like "Green Light" and "Liability," and the New Zealand singer has now unveiled another cut from Melodrama.

"Perfect Places" hears Lorde once again teaming up with Bleachers mastermind Jack Antonoff. He recently performed "Liability" alongside the singer on Saturday Night Live, and enlisted her help on his own Gone Now track, "Don't Take the Money."

The latest Lorde song starts off sparse and melodic, before bursting into a chorus that blends booming bass, glimmering synths and drum machine beats. It serves as the closing number on Melodrama, leaving listeners with the final lines: "All the nights spent off our faces trying to find these perfect places / What the fuck are perfect places, anyway?"

Give it a listen below.

Melodrama is out on June 16 via LAVA/Republic. Pre-order the album via Umusic here.
