Lollapalooza May Expand to Toronto in 2015

This year, the annual Lollapalooza festival will return to Chicago's Grant Park from August 1 to 3. As always, the fest has drawn an enormous lineup for those lucky enough to attend. As it turns out, there might be twice the opportunity to attend, as the festival might be expanding to Toronto.

While details are scarce, Consequence of Sound recently interviewed Toronto Urban Roots Festival organizer Jeff Cohen, who said that Lollapalooza was likely coming to the city in 2015.

"Lollapalooza is surely coming to Toronto next August 2015, and it'll be very interesting to see how that changes the summer landscape in our great city," Cohen said. "Honestly, we've never played by the industry sets of rules with regard to how things work in our venues, etc… being able to book a festival and at the same time also book some into our clubs is just an organic progression."

Cohen went on to explain that they "are absolutely self-sufficient in terms of how we do business and fiercely independent of the big players like C3, AEG, and Live Nation."

Big player C3 Presents actually does organize Lollapalooza, and when Consequence of Sound reached out to them, they said that "nothing is confirmed."

If it were to expand into Toronto, rumour has it that the Canadian edition of Lollapalooza would take place in the second week of August.
