Lockup

Hate Breeds Suffering

BY Greg PrattPublished Mar 1, 2002

Members of Napalm Death, At the Gates and Cradle of Filth, anyone? A stellar line-up indeed, and Lockup delivers the goods on this, their second full-length. Sixteen songs grind past in half an hour here, offering nil in the way of hooks or melody but plenty of speedy, blasting old school metal. Early Napalm Death and Terrorizer springs to mind, with the added bonus of a great production sound. However, the songs here are likely to be forgotten by the listener come tomorrow, which is due more to the overload of new sounds these days than a flaw in Lockup's songs.
