Little Scream

"Love as a Weapon"

The details have yet to drop in full behind Little Scream's recently hinted-at sophomore album, but the songwriter born Laurel Sprengelmeyer is teasing the impending set with a sparkly first single called "Love as a Weapon."

Premiered through Zane Lowe's Beats 1 program, the track mixes a disco-fied drum shuffle, filthily fuzzed-up bass lines and plenty of shushed-sibilance falsetto. It kind of sounds like Emotional Rescue-period Stones, which is never a bad thing.

The launch date has yet to be revealed for Little Scream's as-yet-untitled LP, her first since 2011's The Golden Record, but it will arrive in Canada through Dine Alone Records in Canada and in the rest of the world via Merge Records.

As previously reported, Little Scream head out on the road this month with Operators, and has a batch of U.S. dates with Thao & the Get Down Stay Down in April. The concert info can be found over here.
