Arriving today through Interscope, Chromatica features collaborations with Elton John, Ariana Grande and K-pop outfit BLACKPINK. It follows Lady Gaga's 2016 full-length, Joanne, and was executive produced by Gaga and BloodPop®.
Gaga's sixth studio LP arrives today after the artist moved to delay its release due to COVID-19 in March. Chromatica's tracklist leaked in late April, before it was given its May 29 release date earlier this month.
Lady Gaga helped ring in the album's arrival by making some special deliveries this week. In a March interview with Zane Lowe, Gaga expanded on Chromatica's concept as follows:
The symbol for Chromatica has a signwave in it, which is the mathematical symbol for sound, and it's from what all sound is made from, and, for me, sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about. It's about healing and it's about bravery, as well and it's really like, when we talk about love I think it's so important to include the fact that it requires a ton of bravery to love someone.
