Published Jul 05, 2011After over a decade of captivating audiences with their dynamic brand of indie rock, Vancouver's In Medias Res have signed with File Under: Music to release their next album. As previously reported, the record is called It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out, and follows the band's Intimacy EP and Of What Was full-length.
File Under: Music/Outside Music will release It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out on July 12, but we have a full stream of the album right now. All you have to do is click right here to check out the record.
The album was produced by Jonathan Anderson (Aidan Knight, Radiogram) alongside the team of Dave Carswell and John Collins (Tegan and Sara, the New Pornographers, Destroyer).
As the press release states, "Beginning with the unholy squall of 'The Final Flight of the Bees' and the rousing anthem of 'This Could Be the One,' the album traces a narrative from the heights to the depths, and back again. While each of the tracks are carefully crafted, the slow-burning 'Slow Motion Clarity' and the sweetly melodic 'Tonight I Am New' are particularly indicative of the band's strengths of creativity, diversity, and the rare gift of sounding more than the sum of its parts."
