As promised, the ever-busy Madlib is about to drop Sound Ancestors — a new album that he made in collaboration with Four Tet. We've already heard the album's "Road of the Lonely Ones," and now we get another taste with "Hopprock."
"Hopprock" certainly sounds like the sort of collaboration that would come from the two artists, pairing Madlib's laid-back beat selection with Four Tet's cut-up vocal samples. It's almost a shame to listen to it on its own, because the song feels like a piece of a bigger whole.
