System of a Down's 2001 song "Toxicity" proved to be an unlikely hit this year, after making its way to the dance floor of a Nigerian wedding, and now, to the wintery landscape of Switzerland.

The latest blip on the song's decades-long popularity comes in the form of a hurdy-gurdy cover by Swiss folk metal band Eluveitie's Michalina Malisz. The medieval instrumentalist has offered up a new video of her unique "Toxicity" cover, alongside plans for a hurdy-gurdy covers EP titled Heavy Gurdy Vol. 1 (out January 9).

"It took over a year to finish this EP, it was a lot of fun and a lot of learning," Malisz wrote of the record.

Besides Malisz's new record, she also has a YouTube channel filled will heavy hurdy-gurdy covers, including takes on Slipknot, Metallica, Judas Priest and Lamb of God, as well as The Witcher's "Geralt of Rivia Theme." You can check out more of her work here.
