Lioness

'The Golden Killer' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 10, 2012

Lioness's debut album is several years in the making, since the band released a self-titled EP way back in 2008. The long-awaited The Golden Killer is now finally due out on April 17 via New Romantic, and you can stream the entire thing all week on Exclaim.ca.

The collection finds the Toronto indie rock trio indulging their love of in-your-face dancefloor bangers, with a press release comparing the album to both Daft Punk and Black Sabbath. The Golden Killer is said to contain "ecstatic dance and heavy rock moods," resulting in "dark dancefloor fillers," plus some more reflective, sombre material.

The album's 12 songs were produced by Leon Taheny (Owen Pallett, Bruce Peninsula), and you can listen to the entire album at the bottom of the page.

Lioness will be promoting The Golden Killer with a selection of April and May tour dates in the U.S. and Canada. See the schedule below.
