Published Feb 10, 2010Though his prison sentence was delayed due to some grill-related dental surgery, Lil Wayne really must have thought he would be in jail today. After all, the prolific rap star reportedly shot nine music videos in the span of 48 hours earlier this week.
According to a report from MTV News, Wayne spent his whole weekend shooting an endless amount of material to be used for promotional material and music videos. Using songs from Rebirth and the forthcoming Tha Carter IV, Wayne worked endlessly to insure that we won't forget who he is while he's behind bars.
Director David Rousseau likened the experience to Mission: Impossible. "This is your mission if you choose to accept it. Everybody is onboard because everybody knows what's at stake," he explained. "Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that's disappeared while they were in, the point is to keep Wayne on TV and everything for whatever time he's in. There was a plan in action... He's at the height of his career, you can't let that momentum slip."
Lil Wayne's prison sentencing will officially be announced on March 2.
