Published Nov 09, 2009It's shaping up to be a fruitful end of year for Lil Wayne. Despite the fact that the rapper will probably spend much of 2010 in prison thanks to weapons charges, he recently dropped his new mixtape with the promise of at least two more albums before the year's end. Now, Wayne completists can also get excited over the rapper's upcoming documentary, set for release later this month.
The film is called The Carter 3, and takes a cinéma vérité approach to the rapper's life. It premiered at Sundance this year, but hit some legal snags when Wayne himself tried to sue the filmmakers, claiming that he was contractually entitled to oversee the film's final cut. Based on the scintillating trailer, which is viewable below, Wayne probably wasn't too keen on their coverage of his alleged addiction to cough syrup.
Thankfully, a judge shot down Weezy's claims, and the film is set to be released to DVD on November 17 via QD3 Entertainment.
