Lil Pump Says He's Boycotting Gucci (But He'll Still Perform "Gucci Gang")

Lil Pump has spoken out against Gucci after the fashion company came under fire last week for a turtleneck sweater resembling blackface.

The rapper, best known for his song "Gucci Gang," told fans during an Instagram live video that he'll no longer be supporting Gucci because of the controversial wool balaclava sweater.

In the video chat [captured by SOHH], Pump is heard saying, "I am not supporting that shit going on with Gucci… all that racist shit. No, sir."

The sweater in question is a black turtleneck that unrolls up to eye level, with a red-lipped cutout for the mouth. There was an immediate backlash online, with many deeming the article of clothing racist for its resemblance to blackface. Gucci has since pulled the sweater from its online and physical stores.

Pump then addressed concerns over his hit song, defending it by saying, "That song changed my life. That's the only reason that I will keep performing that song."

"I went from broke to rich with that song," he continued. "You know, it is what it is."
