Earlier this month, rising emo rapper Lil Peep died at the young age of 21. In the wake of his passing, police are still trying to understand exactly what happened.

As previously reported, the rapper born Gustav Åhr died of a suspected drug overdose on November 15 in Tucson, AZ. Now, police are looking into the possibility that the dangerous opioid fentanyl played a role in Åhr's passing.

According to TMZ, police received multiple tips suggesting Åhr had been given pills laced with fentanyl. As previously reported, Lil Peep's body was found on a bus with drug paraphernalia, Xanax, marijuana and an unknown tan powder.

Fentanyl has become a major problem on a global scale, as the highly potent opioid can be lethal in small doses. Read about how Canada's underground music community is battling the fentanyl crisis here.
