Liam Gallagher Settles on Beady Eye for New Band Name, Begins Work on Debut Album with Steve Lilywhite
Over the last few months, we've watched on as Oasis publicly imploded after the departure of Noel Gallagher. Brother Liam promised that he'd continue making music with the rest of the band, originally planning to call the group Oasis 2.0. It's probably for the best that they nixed that terrible band name, as they've now settled on the slightly less terrible name Beady Eye.

The band is made up of Liam Gallagher along with former Oasis chums Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock. Mojo recently posted Beady Eye's first official band photo (see above), and besides the fancy fish-eye lens, it just looks like Oasis sans Noel.

Mojo also reported that the band are currently "working on their way of looking at the world" with U2 producer Steve Lillywhite. We think that means they're recording some music, but it's hard to tell exactly.
