Liam Gallagher Hopes You Can Forgive Him for Tweeting a Death Threat

Peace, love, Don't Look Back in Anger, etc.

There's no rest for the wicked, or the Twitter fingers of Britpop incendiary Liam Gallagher, whose contributions to the timeline have once again made headlines. This time, he's asking for forgiveness after sending a low-key death threat to Atletico Madrid player Stefan Savic.

The football club played Manchester City in a Champions League match on Wednesday (April 13). In a classic soccer moment, it ended nil-nil, but Manchester was given the win on aggregate — but that didn't stop the former Oasis guy from taking to Twitter to express his frustrations about the game.

"Stefan Savic this is a threat if I come across you ya goofy looking CUNT your [sic] dead MCFC," Gallagher wrote in the since-deleted tweet [via The Line of Best Fit]. Savic is now apparently in the singer-songwriter's bad books, alongside fellow cunt "Judge Judy" — Gallagher's affectionate nickname for the judge who recently dismissed his son's assault trial.

Gallagher returned to the platform today to address the fact that he may have been acting a bit rash.

In a series of tweets, the musician began eloquently: "Love love love peace peace peace forgive forgive forgive kiss kiss kiss," before proceeding to say some inspirational quote stuff and calling everyone "Bumbaclarts." Finally, he got real with it, writing: "I'm really upset and annoyed at myself I feel I've let all my fans down by my outlandish behaviour I'm a role model to GROWN UPS hope you can forgive me."

While Gallagher is certainly not the first to tweet a death threat, however in jest, it's not exactly acceptable behaviour in any case.
