Never one to let his brother steal the spotlight, Liam Gallagher has revealed release details for his impending debut solo LP — and it's set to arrive a month before Noel's next record. As You Were is due out on October 6 via Warner Bros.
As previously reported, the record hears Gallagher collaborating with super-producer Greg Kurstin, who in addition to his work with Adele, Sia and Pink, also helmed the new Foo Fighters LP. Kurstin produced four tracks ("Wall of Glass," "Paper Crown," "Come Back to Me" and "It Doesn't Have to Be That Way"), while the remainder of the album was produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat.
The album artwork is pictured above. The full tracklisting has yet to be unveiled, though NME reports other song titles include "For What It's Worth" and "Greedy Soul."
"I didn't want to be reinventing anything or going off on a space jazz odyssey," Gallagher said in a press release. "It's the Lennon 'Cold Turkey' vibe, the Stones, the classics. But done my way, now."
As You Were will be available in an array of CD, vinyl and digital formats, as well as in the form of a deluxe box set featuring 12-inch coloured vinyl, a deluxe version of the CD, a Klaus Voorman art print, a bonus 7-inch single, a poster, a printed foreword by Ted Kessler and a premium hardcover book. You can find full details and pre-order all versions of the album here.
Following Oasis's highly publicized break-up, the younger Gallagher brother released two album's with his now-defunct band Beady Eye — 2009's Different Gear, Still Speeding and 2013's BE.
In addition to the new music, North American fans will also be treated to a string of upcoming live shows from Gallagher. He'll hit this side of the Atlantic in November, landing for a sole Canadian date in Toronto on November 23. Check out the full list of gigs below.
