Liam Gallagher Accuses Noel of Stealing Oasis Songs for Solo Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 5, 2011

We've known for a while that Noel Gallagher was readying his post-Oasis solo debut, but not many people have heard his new tunes. One of the lucky ones who has is brother and current Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher, as he reportedly sung on a number of tracks. Don't go thinking that the siblings have kissed and made up though. Liam believes his brother's debut will be nothing but nicked Oasis songs.

Contact Music quotes Liam as saying that he laid down vocals for most of the songs that will make up Noel's record when they were initially recorded as Oasis songs during sessions for their final album, 2008's Dig Out Your Soul.

"I've heard his fucking new record 'cos I fucking sung on half of it," Liam seethed. "When I was in America for Dig Out Your Soul, he swiped some because he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullshit about, 'Oh, I was intimidated,' and all that. Fucking nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know."

With no release date or tracklisting available for Noel's solo effort, it's hard to say how Liam knows exactly what will be on the as-of-yet unannounced album, especially considering the siblings haven't actually spoken to each other in quite some time. Regardless, Liam isn't as chuffed on his bro's music as he is with Beady Eye's rough and tumble, pub-loving Brit rock.

"I haven't spoken to him; I haven't seen him. It's very hush-hush round his camp," Liam admitted. "I put up with 18 years of that fucker... I'm sure it will all be very civilized and grown-up. His gigs will be like those that you can really stroke your chin at. With four rent-a-Scousers wearing shell-suits."

As previously reported, Beady Eye's debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, will drop February 28 in the UK.
