Let Grimes Sing You to Sleep with Her New "AI Lullaby"

Not just for babies!

Grimes has partnered with German tech company Endel to create an artificial intelligence-assisted atmospheric lullaby to help "improve both sleep and wellness in children and adults."

Having taken up residency at BBC Radio 1 earlier this year to facilitate a playlist of "experimental and sci-fi music" curated for babies, Grimes has taken her motherhood-inspired music-making to another level with a new limited-edition "adaptive sleep soundscape" through a project called "AI Lullaby."

"I think, if approached properly, AI has the ability to radically fix our world," Grimes said in a statement. "I appreciate Endel because they represent the growing trend of humane technology. I hope that the fields of AI safety, research, philosophy, as well as humane AI and spiritual technology etc. can grow a lot in the coming years. We'll need it!"

"AI Lullaby" features original music and vocals created by Grimes, alongside sounds "processed by Endel Pacific technology" that adapt to users' location, weather and natural light exposure.

Currently, the Endel iOS app hosts the project exclusively, where it will live until December 23. The collaboration will arrive on Android and Alexa later this year.

For now, you can listen to a preview of the work below.

Grimes released her album Miss Anthropocene earlier this year.
