Legion

Hell at Last

BY Chris GramlichPublished Nov 1, 1999

This four-song seven-inch by Toronto’s Legion is a testament to the influence of old metal (Celtic Frost, Haunting the Chapel-era Slayer), crustcore and thrash. Featuring a couple of ex-members of grind/crust act Blowhard, Hell at Last may suffer at times from poor sound quality, but that is more than compensated for by the relentless speed and aggression of songs like “Exhausted” and “Close Your Fucking Book.” The other songs, “Abuse in Isolation” and “Tomorrows Prayer” are strong also, and Legion’s future should be assured if this seven-inch is any indication.
