Lee Ranaldo Reveals New Solo LP 'Electric Trim' with Sharon Van Etten, Nels Cline

Last month, Sonic Youth axe man Lee Ranaldo revealed that he'd signed with Mute for a new solo album. Now, details for that release have emerged.

The record is called Electric Trim, and it features nine new compositions from Ranaldo. The songs were recorded in New York and Barcelona with longtime producer Raül "Refree" Fernandez. 

In addition to Fernandez, Ranaldo worked with frequent collaborators Nels Cline, Kid Millions and his band the Dust, which includes Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley. Further, Sharon Van Etten provided vocals to six of the tracks, offering a full-on duet on "Last Looks."

Electric Trim will arrive on September 15. Ahead of its release, you can hear the lead single "Circular (Right as Rain)" below. Ranaldo has also announced a handful of American shows, the dates of which can be found here.
