Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" Has the "Greatest Riff of All Time," According to a New Poll

Robert Plant recently said that his vault of rarities would be cracked open when he dies, but maybe it's not necessary. After all, his band Led Zeppelin has been credited with writing the "greatest guitar riff of all time."

Of course, this is the kind of divisive and impossible-to-determine statement that is meant to start fights, but it wasn't just pulled out of nowhere. Instead, the readers of Total Guitar and Guitar World magazines were polled to come to their conclusion.

Here's the full list of the Top 10 riffs:

1. Whole Lotta Love (Led Zeppelin)
2. Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne)
3. Back in Black (AC/DC)
4. Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple)
5. Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love (Van Halen)
6. Enter Sandman (Metallica)
7. Iron Man (Black Sabbath)
8. Walk (Pantera)
9. La Grange (ZZ Tio)
10. Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix)

Sadly, Blink-182's "Dammit" did not make the cut. Maybe next time.
