Named after bassist Devin Latimer's hometown in Northern Manitoba, Winnipeg's Leaf Rapids return today with news of their long-awaited third album, led by new single "Starling to a Starling."
Velvet Paintings is set to arrive on April 19 via Mile 33 Records — nearly five years on from the band's 2019 sophomore effort, Citizen Alien.
Of the dusky new single, songwriter Keri Latimer said, “This song was inspired by starling murmurations. Separate entities magically flying in sync to form beautiful dancing shapes in the sky. It made me wonder about that elusive thread of connection between humans and what amazing things we can do when we work together.”
