LCD Soundsystem to Release Live-in-Studio Album Next Week
Back in the summer, LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy told Exclaim! that this year's This Is Happening "[marked] the end of an era of what the band is." Sure enough, Murphy is looking to shake up the formula with a live-in-studio LP, The London Sessions, which will be out next week (November 9) via DFA/Virgin.

The release will be digital-only and will be exclusive to iTunes until December 6. Its nine tracks draw from all three LCD Soundsystem albums, including four from This Is Happening, as well as early cuts like "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House" and "Yr City's a Sucker." The release was recorded on June 29 in London's Pool/Miloco Studios.

A press release says, "Here, nothing is replicated with computers, everything instead is recreated in real time, tougher, looser and less clinically."

To make things even sweeter for LCD Soundsystem fans, the band just released the Paperclip People cover "Throw" on vinyl via Planet E. Listen to the song right here.
