Since last year's live reunion, LCD Soundsystem have been promising that a new album is on the way, and the band have finally debuted a handful of new songs.

James Murphy and the gang played the first night of a residency at Brooklyn Steel last night (April 6), and they posted a message at the venue, asking that fans not record the old songs ("We already made a whole movie out of those") or the new ones ("It'd be a real gutpunch to all the people who have been working insanely hard for the last 18 months to release this music in the way we want to release it").

A set list procured after the show, however, has given us a bit of insight into the forthcoming new tracks. Cuts called "Tonight," "Call Police" and "American Dream" were performed live for the first time during the show. One eager Reddit user has even given their own account of each of the new tunes, which you can read over here.

Of course, a cursory creep of the Brooklyn Steel location tag on Instagram proves that not everyone complied with the band's requests. Decent recorded evidence of the new tunes has yet to surface, and it will be a bit of a modern day miracle if the group are able to keep them under wraps for the entire duration of the residency.

LCD Soundsystem are on deck to play another four shows at Brooklyn Steel — tonight (April 7) and tomorrow (April 8), then returning for the final two sets on April 10 and 11.
