LCD Soundsystem

"Dance Yrself Clean" (Muppets version) (video)

Hey, everybody, cheer up. Just because LCD Soundsystem are formally calling it quits with a series of concerts starting at the end of next month, it doesn't mean that we can't have a blast up until then. And fear not, the Muppets are here to help.

While Kermit the Frog teamed up with James Murphy a while back for the melancholy "New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down" video, the frog has joined a couple of his felt-covered pals for a celebratory rendition of the decidedly more pumpin', though unofficial, clip for "Dance Yrself Clean."

Hunkered on top of building in Brighton, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal and Cookie Monster dance, sing and strike up the synths on the number as a crowd of stunned passerby's gathers on the street below. Some start filming the performance on their phones, while most just stand and smile.

The lengthy clip also finds Piggy and her green sweetie canoodling by the beach, while Animal and Cookie Monster crack open a couple cans of Kronenbourg. If these guys are bummed about Murphy's decision to hang it up, they certainly aren't letting it show. Good friends and good tunes, they make the world go round.

Thanks to Pitchfork for the tip.
