Laura Sauvage

'Americana Submarine' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 25, 2015

Vivianne Roy found success playing with Les Hay Babies, but she's opted to explore a solo path under the new moniker Laura Sauvage. She'll release her debut recording under the new name next week with an EP entitled Americana Submarine — and you can give it an early listen right now at Exclaim!

The five-song set showcases Roy's knack for gritty but melodic roots rock. There are moments of fuzzy distortion contrasted with poppy "la la la's" ("Subway Station"), as well as softer more melancholic folk numbers like "You Think I'm Cruel."

Bringing together an off-kilter indie rock sound and solid songwriting chops, Americana Submarine is as catchy as it is confessional. Get acquainted with Laura Sauvage by scrolling past her upcoming tour dates and streaming her debut EP in the player below.

Americana Submarine officially arrives on October 2 through Simone Records.
