Latin for Truth

After the promising but mostly mediocre Eleven Eleven (a record that basically aped New Found Glory) that sounded alright but lacked original ideas, this three-song EP from Scottsboro, Alabama's Latin for Truth is a revelation. Things still barrel along at a very NFG-esque pace but each song packs a fistful of original musical and lyrical ideas, nodding towards youth crew hardcore, '90s pop punk and early thrash with equal vigour, matching driving, catchy choruses with double-time drums and shredding guitar work. Fans of the current late '90s pop punk revival will be stoked but anyone with an internet connection (it's free!) would do well to check out this short, promising batch of tunes.
