Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Trent Reznor Nab Golden Globe Nominations
This morning, the nominees for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards were announced in Los Angeles, and the musical categories have pitted some of pop music's finest against each other.

Lana Del Rey and Lorde face off in the Best Original Song (Motion Picture) category for "Big Eyes" (Big Eyes) and "Yellow Flicker Beat" (Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 1), respectively. They're joined by John Legend and Common for their contribution "Glory" from Selma, as well as by Patti Smith and Lenny Kaye for the Noah track "Mercy Is." Sia's "Opportunity" from the Annie soundtrack rounds out the category.

As for the Best Original Score, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' working relationship with director David Fincher is proving to be a success once again, as they have earned a nod for his work on Gone Girl. He's up against Hans Zimmer for Interstellar, Alexandre Desplat (Imitation Game), Jóhann Jóhannsson (Theory of Everything) and Antonio Sanchez (Birdman).

The awards ceremony will air on January 11 and will once again be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. You can see the full list of nominations here.
