These days, it seems as if everyone is starting to take notice of Lana Del Rey's modern take on the sounds of old Hollywood. Not only is she earning a ton of blog buzz and embarking on tours of Europe and North America, but she just got remixed by Odd Future's Syd the Kid. Now, all this attention has paid off in the form of a record contract with Interscope Records.
Pitchfork points to a small tidbit from the latest issue of Billboard magazine on Lana Del Rey, saying, "The recent Interscope Records signee's debut album is due in early 2012."
The songstress, also known as Lizzy Grant, is currently working on a new single called "Born 2 Die." She wrote on Facebook yesterday (October 27) that she was filming in France and added, "I absolutely know that you will adore it."
There's no word as to whether "Born 2 Die" will come out through Interscope, but we know that the Universal subsidiary will soon be home to a full-length from Lana. In the meantime, catch up on the Odd Future remix of "Blue Jeans" below.
