Lana Del Rey Finally Addresses Her Infamous Mesh Face Mask

Lana Del Rey drew some serious criticism last month when she wore a mesh face mask to a fan event. Now she's tried to explain the controversial face covering, saying it was fitted with a protective plastic layer.

As previously reported, Del Rey wore the mesh mask to an in-person meet-and-greet for her new poetry book Violet Bent Backwards over the Grass at a Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles on October 3. This morning, however, she finally addressed the mask controversy — over a month after the fact.

Del Rey responded to an article called "Lana Del Rey wore a mesh mask. What now?" and tweeted, "Great article. The mask had plastic on the inside. They're commonly sewn in by stylists these days."

She went on to add even more sass, writing: "I don't generally respond to articles because I don't care. But there ya go. Same goes for everyone's masks in my video. I'm lucky enough to have a team of people who can do that."

So yeah, please let Del Rey enjoy her Denny's in peace, okay? She's working on two albums, after all.
