Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe was allegedly assaulted by a gang of youths ahead of the band's performance tonight (November 9) in Dublin, Ireland. He informed the crowd of the attack while on-stage.
As the Irish Mirror reports [via Lambgoat], Blythe used a portion of the Virginia thrash band's set at Dublin's 3Arena to tell the audience about how a group of up to 5 individuals had jumped him on the street.
According to Blythe, they ran up behind him and punched him in the back of the head. During the attack, one of the assailants allegedly shouted "Welcome to Dublin."
Blythe then dedicated the group's "512" to the attackers, noting: "This is for the five kids who jumped me, I hope you get your fucking heads kicked in."
Lamb of God are currently touring in support of this past summer's VII: Sturm und Drang. You'll find the rest of their global schedule over here.
UPDATE (11/10, 12 p.m.): Blythe has now taken to his Instagram to discuss the incident. You can read his account below.
