Lake Step Up Their Pop Game with New K Full-Length

Olympia, WA psych pop troupe Lake apparently started off as a Fleetwood Mac cover band but in the last two years, they've grown into their own. First, they released Oh, The Places You'll Go, their debut full-length, on Pacific Northwest mainstay K Records late last year. Now, they've returned with a second even better album.

Titled Let's Build a Roof, the sophomore Lake effort sees the group expanding on all levels, from Karl Blau's production to their newfound psychedelic influences to tapping that feel-good Mamas & Papas vibe, making it very much a perfect post-summer pop record. Or, as the press release puts it, "Without sacrificing the wonder and childlike beauty that have been the face of Lake for the past four years, Let's Build a Roof proves that wonder and beauty aren't just kid's stuff. This is Lake's most sophisticated record to date."

Let's Build a Roof is due out on October 6 via K. It will be followed by a yet-to-be-announced North American tour with Karl Blau.

Let's Build a Roof:

1. "Breathing"
2. "Gravel"
3. "Madagascar"
4. "Sing 99 and 90"
5. "Acorn"
6. "The Roof Caves In"
7. "Loose Wind"
8. "Winking Sign"
9. "Remote Control Cars"
10. "Don't Give Up"
11. "Christmas Island"
12. "Collapsing Homes"
