Published Feb 27, 2009Lovable Vancouver fuzz rockers Ladyhawk have announced a string of Canadian shows where they will apparently be previewing material from their upcoming follow-up to 2008's breakthrough album, Shots. The April shows mostly take place in Ontario, including all-ages dates in Hamilton and London, and will conclude in Montreal on April 25. Before they leave, the band will play a hometown show at the Biltmore on March 7.
While their "new album updates" on their blog have mostly been YouTube videos of fuzzy animals and puppet PSAs, the band are apparently working on a new album. Whether or not it sounds much like Shots is yet to be seen but lead singer Duffy Driediger was very transparent in an early-December post, saying, "I realize [Shots] is kinda crappy, people have been telling us that from the start, but that's just the way we made it and that's the way we like it. If people don't like it, they should go listen to something better - like Bon Iver, or Bon Scott-era AC/DC."
If you're really itching for some new Ladyhawk material, keep in mind the band have also posted the galloping non-Shots track "You Are My Hellfire" to their MySpace page.
