Lady Gaga to Headline 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 30, 2016

She's courted the indie rock and weirdo pop demographics by collaborating with Kevin Parker, Mark Ronson and BloodPop, and now Lady Gaga is set to convert the masses of beer-guzzling, Cheetos-popping NFL diehards into fans.

It's been confirmed that Gaga will headline the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show. The football championship event and live entertainment spectacle is set to take place on February 5 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, TX.

It won't be Gaga's first appearance at the Super Bowl; she performed the national anthem at last year's event. Coldplay headlined the 2016 show, though you'd be forgiven for forgetting. Beyoncé stole the show, stirring up controversy with a powerful performance of "Formation."

As previously reported, Lady Gaga will release the follow up to 2013's Artpop with a new record titled Joanne. It's due out on October 21 through Streamline/Interscope.

There's no word yet on whether she'll be hosting a tailgate party at her sweet new digs in Frank Zappa's former home.
