Lady Gaga and Metallica Are Going to Duet at the Grammys

Before the red carpet is rolled out, Grammys coordinators are continuing to announce an ever-growing list of performers for this weekend's ceremony — and the latest collaboration to be revealed is another unlikely one.

Metallica will be taking the stage alongside Super Bowl heroine Lady Gaga. That means viewers should still be in for a powerhouse set, despite the fact that Metallica was forced to cancel a string of shows in Europe this week due to frontman James Hetfield falling ill and being put "under strict doctor's orders to not sing one single note."

Here's hoping Gaga's return to the Grammys stage goes a little smoother than last year's David Bowie tribute.

The team-up is the latest in a string of recently announced performers that also includes Chance the Rapper, Sturgill Simpson, Daft Punk, the Weeknd, A Tribe Called Quest, Anderson .Paak, Alicia Keys and Maren Morris.

The James Corden-hosted show gets underway on February 12. See the full list of this year's nominees here.
